Faversham's new loyalty card scheme rewards customers of local shops and services, letting them earn points that count towards special offers available at outlets used.

One card gives access to all the different offers available from participating outlets, so customers save money while enjoying the benefits of being part of a thriving town. A card costs just £5 from any participating outlet.

At the same time, Faversham Rewards enables retailers and businesses to increase customer loyalty, attract new customers and grow their business. In this way the scheme supports local businesses and gives them a powerful tool to fight both the recession and increasing competition from neighbouring towns and business centres.

Faversham Rewards is part of the Faversham Revival project and is supported by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), Kent County Council through Cllr Tom Gates, Kent Rural Towns, Faversham Town Council and Swale Borough Council.

Details of the scheme

The scheme is flexible and allows businesses to adapt their reward offer to meet their own particular objectives.  Although it’s one loyalty scheme, each business can provide an offer to customers which is unique to them.  Thus, Faversham Rewards can be adapted to help a wide range of different shops, businesses and service providers.

For the first two years of the scheme, half of each business's running costs will be paid by SEEDA. Similar initiatives being run in towns such as Ashbourne, Huntley and Haslemere have found they easily recoup the costs of running their schemes.

Faversham Enterprise Partnership will be providing significant marketing support to businesses taking part, including a dedicated section on the faversham.org website and point-of-sale material, such as leaflets, posters, window stickers, T shirts and badges.

Faversham Rewards will be launched over summer and early autumn.  Representatives of Savvy UK – the company managing the technical side of the scheme – are visiting Faversham to meet businesses interested in taking part.
